Halona Media focuses on photography, videography, and editing services. With an Indigenous background and focus we work with all Tribal Nations across North America.

We have a strong background in Haudenosaunee culture and language. I wanted to showcase indigenous youth which eventually led to telling stories in different avenues. Previous projects include educators, family and social services, sports organizations, and individuals all across North America.

Oneida and Navajo are my nations.

My name is Byran Halona and I am a proud member of Oneida and Navajo Nations! I was born and raised in Oneida Nation of WI. My family and community have based down cultural teachings, education, and the values of the "Kaianele’kó:wa", known as the "Great Law of Peace" values.

 

"Kahletsyalusla", which is the heartfelt encouragement in of the best in each of us 

"Kanolukhwasla", which is the compassion, caring, identity and joy of being 

"Ka?nikuhli·yo", which is the openness of the good spirit and mind

"Ka?tshatstʌsla", which is the strength of belief and vision as a people 

"Yukwatsfstayʌ", which is our fire, our spirit within each of us

"Twahwahtsilayʌ", which is all of us are family

"Kalihwi·yo", which is the use of the good words about ourselves, our nation and our future

From these values I have learned to dedicated my energy and time into my family, my community, and being a healthy member of the Nation(s). Through this I have provided free wellness clinics to the community, lacrosse events, photography/videos, educational videos, sports highlights, events, and helped with cultural ceremonies. Through my life community and family members have set aside time and energy to help me through different avenues in my life so it holds a unique and special place in my heart to do the same to the next generation!

Based out of Wisconsin, I have traveled across Turtle Island capturing special moments. From working with local businesses, Indigenous sports organizations, and Native Nations we have been fortunate to be trusted to capture and help tell their stories to the community. We are still here and we now have the opportunity to tell our own story.
